Article: America's Savings Woes
The United States savings rate has dipped to negative 0.5%. The rate has not been this low (or negative) since 1933, right in the midst of the Great Depression. This dangerous trend of spending more than one earns (and thus falling deeper into debt) is unsustainable. It is news like this that truly reconfirms the necessity of blogs like Time to Make Cents.
